Our Research

A core principle of our lab is that our research should have real-world applications. We aim to address urgent issues in marine conservation and bridge the gap between science and natural resource management. Using experimental, observational, and synthetic approaches, we tackle fundamental and applied questions in environmental science to better understand, preserve, and manage natural resources and ecosystems.

Our research is focused on:

  1. Revealing drivers that sustain benthic biodiversity and ecosystem functioning.
  2. Assessing the impacts of human activities and climate change on benthic ecosystems.
  3. Investigating how the biological traits of benthic organisms influence their environment.
  4. Developing monitoring techniques for benthic habitats.
