The Texas A&M University at Galveston residential community consists of more than 1200 residents from throughout Texas, the United States, and even overseas.
CL&L manages the day-to-day operations of the residence halls and serves to facilitate services for campus residents, such as maintenance work orders, extermination, and check-in/check-out services.
Campus Living & Learning provides an environment where students may safely live and learn; is academically centered and focused on the holistic development of students.

Demand for on-campus housing for the 2026–2027 academic year has exceeded available capacity.
Major, unavoidable construction in our largest residence hall has resulted in a significant reduction in available beds for the 2026–2027 academic year. This reduction, combined with an unprecedented number of returning upper-class students choosing to remain on campus and one of the largest incoming first-year classes in recent history, has created an extraordinary demand for housing. As a result, the university does not currently have enough traditional on-campus housing to accommodate all students who applied after the April 1 housing guarantee date.

Fall 2026 Housing Update:
Due to reduced housing capacity and increased demand for on-campus housing, priority (guaranteed) housing application deadlines for the 2026–2027 academic year have passed.
Students who submit an application after their respective priority deadline are not guaranteed on-campus housing. While we will make every effort to accommodate all applicants, space is limited, and students are strongly encouraged to explore alternative housing options.
If a student’s plans change after submitting an application, they may cancel their housing application through the Housing Portal via the Cancellation Form.
Cadet Housing: This housing update for the 2026-2027 school year does not to cadet housing assignments, as cadet housing remains guaranteed in accordance with program requirements.
At Texas A&M University at Galveston, we believe in providing the best residential experience for our students that enables them to safely live and learn.
As per University Student Rules, ALL students are required to live in on-campus housing, as space is available. Exceptions may be made in some circumstances, as listed on our policies & procedures page. Any student hoping to live off-campus is required to apply for permission to live off-campus with TAMUG Campus Living & Learning through the online housing portal.
