Moving On Campus
We are very excited to welcome you home (or back home) to Texas A&M University at Galveston!
Please use the information below as well as updates sent to your university email to help prepare you for move-in.
At Texas A&M University at Galveston, we believe in providing the best residential experience for our students that enables them to safely live and learn. As per University Student Rules, ALL students are required to live in on-campus housing, as space is available. Exceptions may be made in some circumstances (listed below). Any student hoping to live off-campus is required to apply for permission to live off-campus with TAMUG Campus Living & Learning. The application to live on campus can be found here.
Applying for Fall 2024:
Returning students (on-campus Spring 2024 residents) should complete the 2024-2025 housing application in the spring semester but will not be able to immediately select a fall space. Those with a completed application will be able to self-select their housing space in April.
Newly admitted students (incoming students for Fall 2024) can complete the 2024-2025 housing application now but will not be able to immediately select a fall space. Those who apply prior to May 1st will be given selection timeslots and will be able to self-select their housing space in mid-May.
Late applications will be manually assigned a space by CL&L staff.
Applying for Spring 2025:
The Spring 2025 housing application will open in October 2025. Students who are living on campus for Fall 2024 and have an active 2024-2025 housing contract should not complete a Spring 2025 application and contract.

Incoming Cadet Move-In Day: Tuesday, August 6th
Texas A&M Maritime Academy O-Week (Incoming Cadet Orientation Week): August 6th-10th
Freshman Move-In Day for International Students: Thursday, August 8th
Freshman Move-In Day for SALT Camp Participants: Saturday, August 10th
SALT Camp: August 11th-13th
Freshman Move-In Day for Final New Student Conference (NSC) Participants: Tuesday, August 13th
Final New Student Conference (NSC): Wednesday, August 14th
Freshman Move-In Day for Howdy Week Participants: Wednesday, August 14th
Howdy Week: August 15-17th
General Move-In Days: August 16th-18th
First Day of Fall 2024 Classes: August 19th
General Fall 2024 Move-In will begin at 9AM on Friday, August 16th and will continue throughout the weekend. Fall 2024 classes begin on Monday, August 19th.
Campus Dining: Meal plans will be aligned with College Station and are set to start at lunch on August 15 for both campuses. Any meals before (outside of scheduled university activities like O-Week or SALT Camp) would require additional cost be paid to Chartwells.
Early Arrival
Early arrival requests must be completed through the housing portal, and the application to do so will open in May. A daily rate may apply and be charged to your student account.
Spring 2025 Move-In will begin on Friday, January 10th and continue throughout the weekend. Desks open at 9AM, and all residents should check in at the desk indicated on their Move-In email in January.
Incoming students will receive their Spring 2025 housing assignments the first week of January via email.
