Howdy!

Anyone stepping onto the campus of Texas A & M University at Galveston soon realizes that this is a special place. That certainly true for the members of its Board of Visitors – a collection men and women dedicated to the support of the Galveston campus.

Our mission is to:

  • Advise and consult with the COO and executive leadership regarding issues of educational opportunities, research projects, and student support services related to maritime and related industries.

  • Foster mutually beneficial relationships for the school with industry, community, and scientific communities, state and federal governments, and present and former students.

  • Assist in development of support opportunities for the university, its faculty and students.

  • Personally support the school's mission by attending campus events and activities.

Our members come from different disciplines and interests, but we are all united in our abiding love for TAMUG. We meet at the Galveston campus twice a year where we are brought up to date on current issues affecting the school. The various committees of the Board of Visitors meet when needed between our semi-annual briefings and we all seek to have a presence on campus when appropriate.

We are living in an era of significant changes in higher education. This Board is poised to serve as a significant partner for Texas A & M Galveston as the campus meets the  challenges and opportunities ahead.  We, as members of the Board of Visitors, have a profound opportunity to be important contributors to the success of Texas A&M University at Galveston.
