What in your life drew you to your current field of study?

My fascination with marine chemistry and the carbon cycle began with my love for the ocean and a desire to understand its complexities. Observing the impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems sparked my interest in how carbon cycling influences global climate patterns. This passion drives me to study and address the intricate relationships between marine chemistry and climate change, aiming to contribute to solutions for a healthier planet.

What do you hope your students gain from studying or working with you?

I hope the students gain a strong understanding of marine science, develop critical thinking skills, and foster a deep appreciation for ocean conservation.

What are you passionate about in your personal life?

I’m passionate about fishing, hiking, and travel. Fishing offers tranquility and patience, hiking connects me with nature, and travel fuels my curiosity and love for exploring new places. These activities together shape a life of adventure and appreciation for the outdoors.
