Get To Know Paul A. Potier

What in your life drew you to your current field of study?

An interest in audio electronics was the initial area that drew me into electrical engineering. From that starting point, the breadth of the discipline is amazing, particularly in the areas of electronic communications, computing, and robotics.

What do you hope your students gain from studying or working with you?

I would like for my students to develop a holistic understanding of engineering that includes the relationships of theory to practical applications.

What are you passionate about in your personal life?

I am on a continuing quest for a deeper understanding of engineering and how it can be used to approach some of the more significant problems in our society.
