Conference Calls
On your Cisco IP Phone follow these steps:
- Make your first call as normal, when the person answers, press the More button. (The word “more” appears at the bottom of the screen on the right-hand side) and then the "Confrn" button. This automatically opens a new line and places the other person on hold.
- Place a call to the next person.
- When the call connects, press the "Confrn" button again to add this person to the conference call.
- To add more people, press the "More" and then "Confrn" buttons at the bottom of the display. All of the current conference members are put on hold and you can dial the next person.
- Repeat the process to add up to 6 external parties.
TIPS:
Maximum of 6 callers per conference call.
Once the conference call initiator disconnects, no new parties can be added; and avoid putting a conference call on hold. When you put a call on hold, a beeping tone automatically generates every few seconds, or music is played.
- Press New Call button or pickup the receiver to get a dial tone.
- Press the More button. (The word “more” appears at the bottom of the screen on the right-hand side.)
- On the next screen, press the MeetMe button.
- Dial the Meet-Me number (Please contact IT Helpdesk for the number). The screen will then change to read “To Conference” and displays the extension number.
- Callers then dial the 409-740-XXXX number and automatically join the call.
TIPS:Maximum of 6 callers per conference call.
Tell your participants they will hear a busy tone if they call the conference before the initiator has started the call. In this case, they can try calling again during the scheduled conference time.
Once the conference call has been initiated other people may now join the conference by dialing the last four digits if they are using a Cisco phone on Campus or by dialing the ten-digit number if they are using a phone off Campus.
