Lego Robotics Team

The CARES Lab proudly advised a talented Lego Robotics team from Kinard Middle School in Fort Collins, Colorado, as they prepare for their upcoming competition. The team, composed of six dedicated middle school students, has been working tirelessly for months to develop an innovative solution for this year’s challenge.

For the First Lego League Competition, teams are tasked with completing an Innovation Project based on an annual theme. This year’s theme, “The Ocean,” inspired the Kinard team to address a significant challenge: the difficulty submersibles face when navigating small, confined spaces. Their ingenious solution involves equipping submersibles with two small drones. These drones, operated remotely from the main submersible, can maneuver into tight spaces, such as underwater caves, that traditional submersibles cannot access.

The CARES Lab is honored to support and mentor these young innovators, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills in STEM.
