For current students, advising for the Fall term begins in mid-February and advising for the Spring term begins in mid-October. Notifications will go out to students' official A&M e-mail address regularly once the official advising period has begun. You are strongly encouraged to meet with your advisor prior to your assigned registration time.
CALS Advising
First Year Advising
All incoming students are advised for their first term prior to and/or during their New Student Conference (NSC). Incoming first-time-in-college students continue to work with CALS for advising through their first year, with at least one meeting required each semester (Fall and Spring). Incoming transfer students will begin working directly with their departmental advisor so long as they have at least 30 credit hours.
Note that students in the Engineering at Galveston program are not required to meet with a CALS advisor; advising for this program is provided by dedicated College of Engineering advisors located on the Galveston campus.
