HOW TO APPLY
APPLICANT TYPE (UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL)
Readmission Applicant Definition - A former degree-seeking Texas A&M undergraduate student, who does not have a bachelor’s degree and who did not officially register for the previous semester (excluding summer sessions) at Texas A&M University at Galveston.
Readmission to the university is determined on a case by case basis. Each case is reviewed by the academic department you are seeking readmission to. Weight is placed on academic history, the amount and quality of time spent away from school and other indicators of potential academic success upon returning to the university.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
All required documents must be received (not postmarked) by Admissions Processing by the appropriate closing date.
- A completed Apply Texas Application. You can apply online at applytexas.org.
- Application Fee. A nonrefundable $75 application fee. The application fee may be paid by check, money order or approved credit card.
- PREFERRED: Pay through the Applicant Information System (AIS)
- If paying by credit card: be advised that your credit card will be charged a small non-refundable transaction fee.
- Checks or money orders (U.S. dollars) should be made payable to "Texas A&M University at Galveston".
- Fee Waiver - To request a fee waiver, please provide a copy of an award letter from the current institution, showing a Pell Grant was awarded or a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) found within a current FAFSA can also be submitted. The information shown in the SAR will be reviewed to see if the applicant is eligible for a waiver. Checking the fee waiver box on the application will not satisfy the fee waiver requirement. International transfers do not qualify for fee waiver.

- Essay. The essay is required as part of your application for readmission. Your essay must include responses to the following questions:
- What is your passion and when did you recognize this?
- What is/are your career goals(s)?
- Why did you choose your major you are seeking readmission for?
- How can the academic department help you reach your goals?
- Why did you leave?
- What have you been doing since you left?
- Why do you want to return?
- If you left due to academic performance (e.g., not meeting satisfactory academic progress, academic probation, etc.), please explain how your GPA will increase upon readmission.
- IF ADMITTED - Bacterial Meningitis Immunization. TEC 51.9192 requires all students under age 22 entering an institution of higher education to provide current proof of vaccination against bacterial meningitis (an immunization given within 5 years of the date of intended enrollment) or meet certain requirements for declining such a vaccination. The original TDSHS form required for students declining the vaccination must be submitted to the Office of Student Enrollment Services. Students may not register for classes until this requirement is satisfied.

NOTE: On average, it takes 3-5 business days from the time your application is successfully submitted for Texas A&M to receive it. Monitor your email address which you provided on the application for the Application Acknowledgement communication.

Texas A&M University at Galveston is closed on Saturday and Sunday. Credentials scheduled by overnight mail carriers for Saturday delivery will be delivered and accepted by the University on the next business day.
