HOW TO APPLY
APPLICANT TYPE (UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL)
Readmission Applicant Definition - A former degree-seeking Texas A&M undergraduate student, who does not have a bachelor’s degree and who did not officially register for the previous semester (excluding summer sessions) at Texas A&M University at Galveston.
Readmission to the university is determined on a case by case basis. Each case is reviewed by the academic department you are seeking readmission to. Weight is placed on academic history, the amount and quality of time spent away from school and other indicators of potential academic success upon returning to the university.
ADMISSION APPLICATION
Texas A&M University at Galveston only utilizes ApplyTexas for its application for admission.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Your documents must be received by the deadline.

- Application Fee. A nonrefundable $75 application fee. The application fee may be paid by check, money order or approved credit card.
- PREFERRED: Pay through the Applicant Information System (AIS)
- If paying by credit card: be advised that your credit card will be charged a small non-refundable transaction fee.
- Checks or money orders (U.S. dollars) should be made payable to "Texas A&M University at Galveston".
- Fee Waiver - To request a fee waiver, please provide a copy of an award letter from the current institution, showing a Pell Grant was awarded or a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) found within a current FAFSA can also be submitted. The information shown in the SAR will be reviewed to see if the applicant is eligible for a waiver. Checking the fee waiver box on the application will not satisfy the fee waiver requirement. International transfers do not qualify for fee waiver.
- Essay/Statement of Purpose. The essay is required as part of your application for readmission. Your essay must include responses to the following questions:
- What is your passion and when did you recognize this?
- What is/are your career goals(s)?
- Why did you choose your major you are seeking readmission for?
- How can the academic department help you reach your goals?
- Why did you leave?
- What have you been doing since you left?
- Why do you want to return?
- If you left due to academic performance (e.g., not meeting satisfactory academic progress, academic probation, etc.), please explain how your GPA will increase upon readmission.
- Application Fee. A nonrefundable $75 application fee. The application fee may be paid by check, money order or approved credit card.
IF APPLICABLE
- OFFICIAL COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT(s) from ALL schools attended since the last enrollment at Texas A&M University at Galveston.
- Transcripts must show courses in progress if currently enrolled.
- Paper transcripts must be mailed in a sealed school envelope.
- Faxed, scanned, photocopied or emailed copies are not acceptable.

Cadets at Texas A&M Maritime Academy participate in one of three programs: U.S. Coast Guard License Program, NROTC, or Drill & Ceremonies.- All students must apply at tx.ag/TAMMAApp
- Applicants to the NROTC or SSMP programs must also submit:

- Letter of Good Standing: License Option applicants who have attended another maritime academy or college must provide a letter to the Superintendent of the Texas A&M Maritime Academy from the Superintendent of the other academy or college verifying that the student is eligible to return to that institution.
If you are applying as License Option, you must major in Marine Transportation, Marine Biology, Marine Engineering Technology or Marine Sciences.

To be considered official: Transcript must have an original signature of a school official, an original school seal or be mailed directly from the school in a sealed envelope.

- If the deadline falls on a weekend, the application will remain open until 11:59 PM (CST) on the following Monday. Additional required documents will be accepted until 5:00pm (CST) on that Monday.
NOTE: On average, it takes 3-5 business days from the time your application is successfully submitted for Texas A&M to receive it. Monitor your email address which you provided on the application for the Application Acknowledgement communication.
ACTS OF DISHONESTY
All students applying to Texas A&M University at Galveston are expected to follow the Aggie Code of Honor which states “An Aggie does not lie, cheat or steal nor tolerate those who do.” Applicants found to have misrepresented themselves or submitted false information on the application will receive appropriate disciplinary action.
Pursuant to the current undergraduate catalog and Texas A&M student rule 24.4.1, acts of dishonesty include but are not limited to:
- withholding material information from the University, misrepresenting the truth during a University investigation or student conduct conference, and/or making false statements to any University official
- furnishing false information to and/or withholding information from any University official, faculty member, or office
- forgery, alteration, or misuse of any University document, record, or instrument of identification
The submission of false information at the time of admission or readmission is grounds for rejection of the application, withdrawal of any offer of acceptance, cancellation of enrollment, dismissal or other appropriate disciplinary action.
