APPLICANT TYPE
You are an international freshman if you:
- are not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or
- are not graduating from a Texas high school after three years in residence in Texas (please review Senate Bill 1528)
- are a student without college credit or
- earned college credit prior to high school graduation (dual credit/early college high school)

ApplyTexas can be used by any student to apply to any public and many private and community colleges in Texas. Please go to applytexas.org.

Topic A - Average length is a page to a page and a half. Additional essays will not be reviewed.

- Checks or money orders (U.S. dollars) should be made payable to Texas A&M University at Galveston. Checks or money orders are accepted provided they display an agency bank in the United States and have magnetic ink character recognition (MICR) routing numbers at the bottom.

- OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT
To be considered official: Your transcript(s) must have an original signature of a school official (Registrar, Principal, Controller of Examinations or the Ministry of Education) or an original school seal.
All foreign transcripts must include an English translation or credential evaluation prepared by a recognized service and include all original seals and/or signatures.

Faxed or e-mailed copies will not be accepted.- Submit an official high school/secondary transcript. If you are in the final year when you apply, an official transcript showing at least three years of completed coursework and in-progress coursework must be received by the deadline.
- If you have graduated from high school, you must provide your final transcript that shows senior courses and date of graduation and a diploma, leaving certificate, or official examination results. Students that complete the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exam must submit a WAEC scratch card by the deadline.
- Transcript evaluations from an evaluation service which is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services are recommended and will be accepted. We recommend a document-by-document evaluation (with a GPA) for high school credentials and a course-by-course evaluation for college/university transcripts from non-U.S. institutions. Credentials received from a credential evaluation service will be evaluated by staff and must meet all other admission credential requirements. As a reminder, credentials issued in a language other than English must include a word for word English translation, performed by a recognized translation provider, in addition to the credential evaluation. Credential evaluations will be considered as a translation, but they will NOT be accepted as a substitute for required transcripts.
- If you have attended more than one high school (including US accredited schools) then a transcript is required for each school.
- If you transferred your foreign credits to a US school then only the US transcript is needed.
- If your school includes IGCSE/GCSE and A-levels then you must provide your projected A-levels and AS-levels by the deadline.
- Submit an official high school/secondary transcript. If you are in the final year when you apply, an official transcript showing at least three years of completed coursework and in-progress coursework must be received by the deadline.

- You must send your scores through the testing agency.
- Texas A&M SAT code is 6003 and ACT code is 4198.
- Your highest total score from a single test date will be considered for admission.
- SAT and ACT scores expire after 5 years.

If your native language is not English, you are required to submit proof of English proficiency. If you are a citizen of one of the following countries, you will be exempt from the English proficiency requirement for admission and considered English Language Proficiency (ELP) Verified:

Texas A&M University only accepts scores submitted electronically by the IELTS test center. No paper Test Report Forms will be accepted. Please contact the test center where you took the IELTS test and request that your test scores be sent electronically to Texas A&M University (College Station and Galveston). Please note: there may be multiple instances of Texas A&M University.
Tests should be taken at least eight weeks prior to the appropriate application deadline to ensure timely receipt and processing of results.

- The application deadline for Fall is December 1.
- All other required documents will be accepted through December 15.
- If the deadline falls on a weekend, the application will remain open until 11:59 pm (Central Standard Time) on the following Monday. Additional required documents will be accepted until 5:00 pm (Central Standard Time) on that Monday.
NOTE: On average, it takes 3-5 business days from the time your application is successfully submitted for Texas A&M to receive it. Monitor your email address which you provided on the application for the Application Acknowledgement communication.
ACTS OF DISHONESTY
All students applying to Texas A&M University at Galveston are expected to follow the Aggie Code of Honor which states “An Aggie does not lie, cheat or steal nor tolerate those who do.” Applicants found to have misrepresented themselves or submitted false information on the application will receive appropriate disciplinary action.
Pursuant to the current undergraduate catalog and Texas A&M student rule 24.4.1, acts of dishonesty include but are not limited to:
- withholding material information from the University, misrepresenting the truth during a University investigation or student conduct conference, and/or making false statements to any University official
- furnishing false information to and/or withholding information from any University official, faculty member, or office
- forgery, alteration, or misuse of any University document, record, or instrument of identification
The submission of false information at the time of admission or readmission is grounds for rejection of the application, withdrawal of any offer of acceptance, cancellation of enrollment, dismissal or other appropriate disciplinary action.
